Technology, Innovations Steal the Show at Powder Coating '06

Every alternate year the Powder Coating Institute (PCI) hosts a powder coating show that is intended to focus primarily on this, technology. This year it was held at the Indianapolis Convention Center, where many vendors exhibited new and innovative products (MF, October). The purpose of this paper is to highlight some of the newer technologies and write about new trends. With regard to powders themselves, I am always amazed at how many new textures and finishes are available. It seems that there is no end to the range of appearances, and anyone who gets into powder coatings for the first time will have a difficult time selecting the type and color of the finish. It is much like attending a smorgasbord and being tempted by so many different delicious dishes. (If you are interested in looking at what is available, ask your vendor for a book of color chips and you will be taken aback by the vast range available to you.)
