For the past decade, automotive cavity wax-a critical part of the automotive paint and finishing process-has been applied manually by an operator using a gun with a specially designed nozzle for each hole. Automation systems featuring fixed nozzles have reduced labor requirements, but these systems are not suitable for building several different models in a high-volume, high-mix assembly plant.rnThe solution: robotic technologies with advanced vision systems and flexible tooling are providing substantial wax savings, improved quality, and faster cycle times, thereby increasing overall finishing line efficiency and decreasing costs.
