Copper producers stay bullish in the face of traders' bearish talk

Bullish demand forecasts by major copper producers speaking in Santiago contrasted with traders' expectations that prices could fall back hard in the nearterm amid continued uncertaintyabout the global economy. Executives from Anglo American Plc and Chilean state-owned copper producer Corporacion Nacional de Cobre de Chile (Codelco) said on Tuesday that they were confident that high prices will not deter near- or medium-term copper demand and that prices are sustainable at current levels.
