UK aluminium scrap prices rise as ingot holds

Aluminium scrap prices rose for some secondary grades last week as merchants sought to capitalise on the strength of the ingot market. Commercial cast rose to ￡1,080-1,120 ($1,737-1,801) per tonne from ￡1,050-1,100 per tonne previously; cast wheels increased to ￡1,400-1,450 per tonne from ￡1,340-1,380 per tonne; and commercial turnings rose to ￡810-865 per tonne from ￡800-850 pertonne previously. This comes after commercial pure and HE9 extrusions prices rose last week.
