Lateral Water Flow and Transport of Agrochemicals in Northern Thailand

In the mountainous areas of Northern Thailand, human population growth and migration from the lowlands have increased pressure on agricultural Systems to sustain food supply. Greater use of agrochemicals has led to contamination of agricultural products and of water sources. To our knowledge, there has been no study on pesticide transport and flow mechanisms Controlling this transport from agricultural fields into surface waters in Northern Thailand.
