At the international sporting goods fair ISPO Munich 2016, January 24-27, 2016 Toray Industries, Inc., Tokyo/Japan, for the first time presented Primeflex stretch fabrics made of polyamide yarns with bicomponent structure. Until now, polyurethane elastane fibers or textured yarns have been used for stretchy polyamide fabrics. However, these 2 kinds of fabrics have their limitations. Although polyurethane fibers are extremely elastic, they also shrink markedly and are thus very tight on the body. In some application scenarios this limits the freedom of movement. Textured yarns, on the other hand, have a soft feel, but their elasticity is limited.
