The effect of 9 top rollers with different hardness of 3 over 3 ring frame drafting system has been investigated on cotton yarn. This work mainly deals with the study of the effect of roller hardness on yarn quality and the trials were conducted to justify the yarn quality by changing the roller hardness. The changes in result of card sliver and yarn were evaluated by checking the sample on AFIS tester and UT-3 tester and making a comparison between them. The trials gave results such as the NRE content in sliver in relation, which have shown a better result as compared to running. After carrying out trials at different roller hardness, it was found that neps removal efficiency, RKM is increased and imperfection, hairiness minimized. It was found that imperfections (thin, thick, neps), strength and hairiness of yarns are influenced by the changes in hardness of roller in ring frame drafting system top roller hardness, and it is gain the large scale of working in department of spinning unit. A Standard Tensorapid tensile tester was used for measuring the mean breaking forces of the yarn. An Uster evenness tester measured the CV% of yarns, to study the influence of roller hardness on yarn quality.
