The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) has been furnished with a more ambitious institutional structure compared to the Barcelona Process, in the hope that this will provide non-EU partners with a greater say over co-operation processes. This contribution examines the different components of the institutional structure and explores the UfM's potential for achieving its stated ambition to reinforce co-ownership.
