What usually defines the diagnostic strategies of pulmonary embolism is the association of ran invasive and non specific imaging modalities, mainly ventilation and perfusion scan, with a specific but rather invasive imaging technique: pulmonary angiography. Spiral CT angiography requires optimal acquisition, injection and reconstruction techniques. Its scientific evaluation applied in a large population is needed. From preliminary results, this new imaging technique seems to be highly specific, sensitive and reproducible.%L'angioscanographie spiralée volumique est une nouvelle méthode de diagnostic mini-invasif de l'embolie pulmonaire. Elle se répand rapidement au fur et à mesure du renouvellement des installations scanographi-ques. Elle nécessite un choix optimal des paramètres d'acquisition, d'injection et de reconstruction pour atteindre des bons niveaux de sensibilité, spécificité et reproductibilité. Une évaluation scientifiquement bien conduite permettra dans les années à venir de la situer comparativement aux autres tests diagnostiques (scintigraphie de perfusion et de ventilation et angiographie).
