STAGE EN MILIEU AMBULATOIRE POUR LES ÉTUDIANTS EN MÉDECINE DE DEUXIÈME ANNÉE

As part of a new study programme of six years, the Geneva faculty of medicine is arranging for it's second year medical students a training course in primary care, called «primary care skills». Each student regularly fallows the treatment of one patient with a general practioner (training doctor) during one year. In order to assess the students' work using a penalty system during such a course, we have created a pamphlet of real situations analyses, which correspond to the training course objectives. The student must fill this in depending on the ongoing problems faced by his patient. This article explains this assessment method. The answers allow not only an evaluation of the individual performance of the student, but also the global results of several successive student years.%La Faculté de médecine de Genève, dans le cadre de son nouveau programme d'études, offre aux étudiants de deuxième année un stage en milieu ambulatoire, appelé «Compétences en milieu ambulatoire». Chaque étudiant suit régulièrement un seul patient chez un médecin praticien installé (médecin formateur) pendant une année. Pour évaluer de façon sanctionnelle l'activité des étudiants dans un tel stage, nous avons créé une brochure d'«analyses de situations» correspondant aux objectifs du stage, que l'étudiant complète au fil des problèmes posés par son patient. Ce travail décrit ce mode d'évaluation. Les réponses permettent d'évaluer correctement aussi bien la performance individuelle de l'étudiant que les résultats globaux des volées successives des apprenants.
