In July 2020 Medact released a report of its research into the impact on NHS healthcare of the UK government's Prevent programme - one of four strands of the UK's national counter-terrorism policy. 'All staff who provide services to NHS patients' (Gov.UK 2019) are expected to be involved in identification of potential terrorists and NHS Hospital Trusts and Foundation Trusts are the health authorities specified in Section 6 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015.
