摘要

As this issue of MCS went to print the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day and the end of World War 1 (WW1) included the recurring debate about the balance between celebration and sorrow, red poppies or white, never again and why haven't we learnt. Far more recognition has been paid to the previously unacknowledged contribution and sacrifices of Commonwealth troops, and long-standing peace initiatives such as the twinning of Coventry and Dresden continue to inspire. Some will even be remembering British troops buried in Maala Cemetery in the Yemen.
