A tape reinforced with a weft-insert warp knitted (WIWK) fabric has been developed by Milliken.rnThe fabric utilizes a combination stitch to secure the wales of the fabric, says the company of Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA.rnAccording to Milliken, the tape exhibits improved dimensional stability and is less likely to exhibit stringing during manufacture than existing products.rnFurther, the WIWK fabric does not adversely affect the finished tape's tear strength or tensile strength, and the gauge (thickness) of the tape is substantially the same as the previous WIWK fabric substrates.
