We examined human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) under prolonged culture by electron mi- croscopy and by light and electron immunocytochemistry including double immunolabeling. Based on the cell area of HUVECs through multiple passages, we divided the cells Into first, second, and third stages, which exhibited distinct Morphological and immunocytochemical characteristics.
