NACE International Members Bring Corrosion Control Message to Capitol Hill

NACE members from across the United States came to Washington, DC on April 20 and 21 for NACE International's annual legislative fly-in. Participants met with legislators to raise awareness of the costly effects of corrosion and the importance of corrosion control. The two-day event focused on informing legislators of the reasons why corrosion prevention language is necessary in the upcoming Highway Bill. NACE CEO Bob Chalker also addressed the participants of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) at a breakfast they hosted to kick off their own legislative day, which coincided with the NACE fly-in. Later that morning, Chalker and IUPAT General President Kenneth Rigmaiden met with House Transportation and Infrastructure committee chair, Congressman Bill Shuster (R-PA) and chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Senator David Vitter (R-LA).
