摘要

Large single crystals of the clathrate compound MTN (a zeolite-like material) were synthesized via the vapor-phase transport method by contacting organic amine vapor with the gel composed of fumed silica, hydrofluoric acid, and water. Different vapor sources (morpholine, pyrrolidine, 1-propylamine or water) were used in the synthesis. It was proved that morpholine was a new and effective structure-directing agent (SDA) in the formation of large single crystals of the clathrate compound MTN. The size of the as-synthesized product was up to 350 μm using morpholine as SDA. It is the first example that the large single crystals of zeolite-like MTN were synthesized by the vapor-phase method.
