In this research, we have synthesized a novel CaBiVMoO8 photocatalyst by means of an easy and prompt route based on the coprecipitation method. The formation of the material was analyzed by several techniques, including X-ray diffraction, UV-vis diffuse reflectance, BET surface area, and scanning electron microscopy. The photoactivity was tested by the degradation of indigo carmine and ciprofloxacin. The results show that the photodegradation of indigo carmine is favored under slightly acidic values (pH similar to 4), and this behavior can be explained in terms of the point of zero charge (pH(PZC)) of the material.
