The maintenance of retaining walls and town walls as well as boundary walls represents a historic duty in many places and demands concepts for the refurbishment, care and maintenance of these structures that consider the preservation of historic substance. The Colloquium will provide an overview of current research results as well as report practical experience of the surveying and evaluation of the existing condition for the preservation, refurbishment, maintenance and care of natural stone retaining walls and town walls. It will enable an exchange of experience between all those who have to overcome these tasks and challenges.
