Fairmount Sherpa delivers rig in Las Palmas

The tug fairmount Sherpa, operated by Rotterdam based Fairmount Marine, has safely delivered the rig GSF Arctic I in Las Palmas, having been towed from off Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. 6SF Arctic is a semi-submersible drilling rig for deepwater operations, owned by Houston based Transocean. The 78m long, 61m wide rig is designed to drill in water depths of up to 10,000m. The voyage covered a distance of almost 4,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean with an average speed of 4.1 knots.
