Nordsee Ost windfarm marches on

Two recent announcements concerning completion of foundation installation and the awarding of a maintenance contract by RWE Innogy highlight steady progress with the Nordsee Ost offshore windfarm. Nordsee Ost is under construction around 35km north of the island of Helgoland and 35km west of the North-Frisian island of Amrum. The site is located outside the main shipping lanes, military training areas and sea bird protection zones, thus well-suited for the location of a windfarm. When drilling for soil investigations, sand was found almost exclusively.
