KOTUG DEBUTS IN SOUTH AMERICA

Kotug has acquired a powerful anchorhandlingtug on the back of a long-term oilfi eld support contract in Guyana.Kotug, along with other similar towagecompanies have in the past been best knownfor traditional shiphandling operations in theirdomicile country. The changing nature of thissector, including consolidation has howeverseen major operators expanding into newmarkets abroad, bringing their skills andexperience to areas including both onshoreand offshore oil and gas operations, anindustry demanding high standards in areasincluding safety and efficiency.This latest contract for Kotug will see theRotterdam-based towage service provideroperating for the first time in South Americawith the awarding of a long-term contract byEsso Exploration and Production GuyanaLimited for offshore terminal towage supportat the Liza Field. Working under the entityKotug Guyana Inc, work will involve supportingexisting and upcoming FPSOs, providingtowage assistance to export tankers, infieldsupport and cargo duties.
