UAL COBURG: ELEVENTH BODEWES TRADER 7000 CLASS VESSEL COMPLETED BY BODEWES SHIPYARDS HOOGEZAND

February 2005 saw the handing over of the 'UAL Coburg' to her owners Feederlines, a subsidiary of Hartmann, Leer, Germany. The 'UAL Coburg' immediately has been long-term chartered to Universal Africa Line (UAL) in Rotterdam who, on its turn, chartered the vessel to HMT based in Capelle a/d IJssel. The vessel's hull was built in Ukraine and the outfitting took place under the name 'Vegadiep' in Winschoterdiep. The newbuild vessel is a versatile multi-purpose dry cargo container vessel and the sixteenth unit completed in a new series of the Bodewes Trader 7000 class designed by the yard. Three units in this series have already been ordered by B&N Moerman and Harren Partner and twelve units already by Feederlines. The Bodewes Trader 7000 Class is the largest type of vessel ever built by the yard. The vessel started her maiden voyage from Delfzijl, The Netherlands and sailed to Rotterdam where she was christened by Mrs. Sabine Kastner, spouse of the Mayor of Coburg. After the ceremony the vessel set sail to Helsingborg, Aberdeen, Drammen and Antwerp to load containers for Angola.
