Stellendam based Maaskant Shipyards has recently completed building the beam trawler Jan-Cornelius GO-22. January 2005 saw the official handing over ceremony of the fishing vessel to her owners Fishing company Jan Lokker en Zonen, Goedereede, The Netherlands. This vessel is a new design, which was built according to recommendations of Marin at Wageningen, for optimal performance. Additionally, the shipyard, in cooperation with the owners and suppliers, has been focussing on integrating new innovations to improve the economical effectiveness of this vessel. Maaskant Shipyards specialises in the construction, repair, conversion, and interior design of fishing vessels. This shipbuilder also builds patrol boats, custom launches, buoy laying vessels and other craft for local authorities. In contrast to many other shipyards, Maaskant Shipyards focusses on the niche market of fishing boats where it has long-standing experience.
