Complex, expensive and cumbersome handling. This characterises the purchasing of MRO products within large and medium size businesses. It is fairly common among large organisations to refer to the purchasing of these products as the 'headache portfolio'. The total process costs quickly run into a factor of 1.5 of the cost of the products themselves. And this is apart from the large number of suppliers that are usually involved in this. With the OneMRO concept, Econosto, Fabory, Rexel, Biesheuvel Techniek/Orefi and Vintura introduce a standard approach in order to substantially lower their clients' process costs. In the Netherlands approximately ? 2 to 3 billion is spent annually on MRO products by large companies such as Philips, Corus, Unilever and DSM. In Europe the amount runs up to at least ? 150 to 200 billion.
