NEW TOP-CLASS YACHT & CRUISE PORT

Tianjin is a designated economic center for Northern China and is gearing up efforts to develop its promising cruise and yacht tourism industries, which some expect to become the biggest in Asia. By the end of the year China plans to have built a top-class port in Tianjin municipality. This port will allow the country's super-rich to dock their luxury vessels at a port near the capital Beijing. This new superyacht marina will be created at the Dongjiang Bonded Port Area in Tianjin Binhai New Area (TBNA) and covers an area of 900,000 square meters. It will have 750 berths capable of accommodating 300-foot-long (91.5 meters) luxury yachts. Five-star hotels, commercial streets, yacht manufacturing and repair bases will also be present. Tianjin plans to invest 9 billion Yuan (1.35 billion US$) to build the largest yacht port in the coun-try with the eventual goal of building up the biggest yacht indus-try base in Northern China.
