SEVEN PACIFIC

On 12 November 2010, IHC Offshore & Marine part of the IHC Merwede group delivered the 131 metre long and 24 metre wide pipelay and offshore construction vessel Seven Pacific. The vessel marked the fourth newbuilding delivered by the yard to customer Subsea 7. Earlier deliveries are the Seven Oceans and Seven Seas, both cable-layers, and the Seven Atlantic, a diving support vessel. Ice class The design of the Seven Pacific evolved out of IHC Merwede's 22-series, which stands for a customisable platform of a 22 metre wide hull shape with associated diesel-electric propulsion installation. The accommodation and technical outfitting are adapted in each case to the customer's wishes. For Seven Pacific and future ships in this series, the beam was increased to 24 metres, as regulatory requirements now demand cofferdams between the fuel tanks and the side shell. An added benefit is the increased deck space.
