John Crane-Lips delivers giant propeller

John Crane-Lips recently delivered one of the world's largest fixed pitch popellers from its factory in Drunen, Netherlands, to 's- Hertogenbosch. The six-bladed propeller has a diameter of 8.8 m and a weight of 92.5 tons. During road transportation, clearances were as.low as 40 cm a side at one point. On arrival at 's-Hertogen-bosch, the giant propeller was lifted by crane onto a barge for transportation to Rotterdam, where it was loaded onto the Pohang Senator for its voyage to Busan, South Korea.
