CSIP launches first ARM 5E

CSIP, a subsidiary of ECA SA, Wey-mouth, England, recently launched the ARM 5E, the first 5 Function Electric Underwater Manipulator Arm. The all-electric arm, like its hydraulic counterpart, can be used to clear debris, turn values and cut. However the electric arm has an advantage. It has more incremental movement, allowing for greater accuracy and more precision in operation. The new arm can be mounted on the same footprint as a hydraulic arm, without the use of a skid, a valve pack or hydraulic pump-leading to the reduction of weight and an increase in the vehicles maneuverability.
