Before there were the teabaggers, there were the drill-baby-drillers. Seems Virginia's newly elected Republican governor Bob McDonnell was among them. On December 23, he wrote not to Santa, but to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.rnIn the letter to Salazar, McDonnell expressed his continued strong support of offshore energy exploration and development off the coast of Virginia. McDonnell cautioned against any further delay in the Virginia offshore lease sale scheduled for 2011, and presented the Secretary with the position of his incoming Administration on the issue.
