THE ENVIRONMENT OF SALVAGE

Marine Salvage is undergoing a dramatic evolution in the U.S. The implementation of the OPA 90 Salvage Regulations for Tank Vessels is now behind us and going forward salvage will be performed within the framework of these planning requirements. During these interesting and perhaps challenging times, it is a privilege to have been elected president of the American Salvage Association. My personal background as a salvage diver, salvage engineer, and salvage master focuses my interest. As a business owner it will be interesting to see how these regulations are transformed into workable business models.
