President Obama should be applauded for challenging Americans to "out-innovate, out-educate, and out-build the rest of the world" to compete for global jobs in fast-developing sectors such as clean energy. The biggest of his challenges: Generating 80% of the country's electricity clean energy sources by 2035. That's a very ambitious goal, considering that 58% of the nation's electricity was generated by using petroleum and coal in 2009, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
