Fuel cell corvette offers glimpse of the future

A small German company led by Karl-Otto Sadler, a former director of the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Germany, has produced a radical design for a next-generation corvette that uses fuel cells to provide power for innovative, hybrid machinery. Unveiled for the first time at the SMM exhibition and conference in Hamburg in September, the 'Corvette der Zukunft' or Corvette of the Future conceptualised by Sadler and his colleagues is a fully electric design (with gas turbine option for high speed) in which fuel cells provide electrical power for a High Temperature.
