New concepts unveiled, standards discussed at T-Pod

An international audience numbering well over one hundred and representing the full gamut of industry and academia converged in Brest, France, to hear keynote presentations from leading podded propulsion experts from industry, class and academia. The event follows the highly successful inaugural meeting held in Newcastle two years which was one of the outcomes of the FAST-POD (fast ship application for pod drives) three year collaborative project coordinated by Professor Mehmet Atlar of the University of Newcastle School of Marine Science and Technology (MER, February 2003, pp56-60).
