Australia's Pmax Filters has been manufacturing washable air filters for marine diesel engines since 2000. The filters are proven to enhance engine performance and efficiency. They differ from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) filters by having a unique pleated design with 700% more surface area to trap pollutants and work simply by trapping oil mists and airborne pollutant particles in the filter where they can be removed by washing out with normal detergents at a later time. They come with a manometer to register dirt build up and are available for most slow, medium and high speed marine diesel engines. By keeping the turbocharg-er, intercooler and inlet air manifolds clean, engines run closer to their new conditions, for far longer than those equipped with a copper gauze filter or a simple filter wrap. The filters not only enhance engine performance but they also save money by reducing maintenance costs.
