Waertsilae orders for the JHSV and T-AKE programmes

During Q1, 2009, Waertsilae won orders for US Navy vessels using the company's propulsion products: for the Joint High-Speed Vessel (JHSV) programme, and the 13th and 14th T-AKE vessels.The first 103m JHSV will be equipped with four Wartsila WLD1400SR Axial Waterjets, with options for nine additional shipsets expected to be exercised between 2009 and 2013. The US Navy has selected Austal USA of Mobile, Alabama, to design and build the vessels.
