An electric carrier project

SIR — I was very pleased to read the recent article on electric propulsion by Nick Smith (MER's Propulsion supplement 2010) and so was my friend Ron Crook (RF Crook, MBE) who was also a pioneer in this field. We have both been regular readers and he was in course of writing an article for your consideration when he died recently. I feel readers might like to be reminded of a project he was involved in, the Harrier Carrier*, which I believe was on the point of being ordered when the potential purchaser had a change of regime.
