The lower the coefficient is, the lower the magnitudes of the induced velocities at the propeller disk and the higher the efficiency. For conventional propeller the coefficient is around 0.4, for a CLT propeller it is about 0.1. The coefficient depends on the type of propeller, its main characteristics (diameter, number of blades, blade area ratio, etc) and the radial load distribution. To achieve a large pressure difference between the pressure and the suction sides of the propeller blades, it is necessary to place barrier elements at the blade tips (ie the tip plates). Furthermore, for a CLT propeller, the distribution of thrust per unit of radial length increases linearly from root to blade tip.
