Imtech hybrid propulsion system for ferries

Imtech Marine is to sup ply a hybrid propulsion sys tem, consisting of diesel elec tric in combination with bat tery technology, to the world's first diesel electric, hybrid seagoing ferries. Owned by Scottish compa ny Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), the two vehicle and passenger ro-ro ferries will be built by Fergu son Shipbuilders of Glasgow.
