Finland-based we Tech Solutions Oy and Tianjin Xingang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry have signed a contract for the delivery of four 'direct drive permanent magnet shaft generator' solutions for a four post-panamax sized pure-car-truck-carrier (PCTC) vessels recently ordered by Wallenius Lines. Each 200 m long and 36.5 m wide vessel will have a cargo capacity equivalent to 8000 cars. WE Tech will begin delivering the direct drive permanent magnet shaft generator from November 2014.
