Software suites upgraded to improve vessel efficiency

Tero Marine is developing its TM Master fleet management software suite to make it accessible on smart devices, such as tablets and laptop computers. TM Master is a fully integrated information system, comprising modules for ship maintenance, procurement, human resources and quality assurance. The software has been designed for storage, editing and retrieval of data, and its analysis, to support shipowners and fleet managers' operations from planning through execution. The software suite, which is based on Microsoft's Net operating system, has been adapted for maritime operations. It can be integrated with other systems, such as enterprise resource planning software, as well as web-based e-procurement and communications technology. According to Tero Marine chief executive Jan Erik Harvei, the program uses a simple mail transfer protocol and e-mail system to send data between ships and shore bases.
