摘要

Maritime Communications Partner (MCP) has launched a business enablement platform that allows passenger ship operators to deliver digital content on board to any mobile devices, public area TV and in-cabin screens, writes Rebecca Moore. The launch of Value Added Voyage Experience (VAVE) follows an eight-month pilot project on Corsica Sardinia ferry Mega Express Five. MCP is finalising the VAVE contracts for remaining vessels, which should be completed by the end of this year. MCP senior vice president of business innovation Ole Kristian Sivertsen said: "We had very good feedback from the ferry's customers and we have seen that the connectivity business we do on the vessel go up dramatically. Just the sales of WiFi access increased 20 times during the trial period compared with what it was in the past."
