The Hershey Company has announced its sales and earnings for the first quarter ended April 5, 2009. Consolidated net sales were $1.24 billion compared with $1.16 billion for the first quarter of 2008. Reported net income for the first quarter of 2009 was $75.89 million. Adjusted net income was $85.99 million in the first quarter of 2009.
