At the recent National Confectioners Association State of the Industry conference, several awards were presented. Confectionery Leadership Awards went to Mike Maslen of Hudson Group and Dave Schulze of H-E-B. In addition, Sal Ferrara II, former CEO of Haribo of America and former CEO of Ferrara Candy, was posthumously awarded the NCA Lifetime Achievement Award; Bill Raleigh, former director of market development for Ingre-dion, received NCA Supplier Member of the Year; and Pierson Clair, vice chairman of the board and CEO of Brown & Haley, was named NCA Advocate of the Year.
