摘要

Finishing is best regarded as the final stage in the embellishment of the fabrics, most of which, as they come from the different machines, having an unattractive appearance. Water drops falling on to a water-repellent textile fabrics should run-off of the surface without wetting it. A unique approach was attempted in this investigation where silicon softener was successfully applied with flurochemical (water repellent chemical) on the plain woven cotton fabrics to obtain water repellent breathable fabrics having soft and supple handle. The treated fabrics have shown excellent water repellent behaviour.
