The sector might just wake up to a glaring truth - Vietnam has emerged as a strong contender to Indian apparel exporters and might spoil the party. Rising production costs have forced Chinese manufacturers to set shop in Vietnam to offer cheaper alternative for international apparel exports, dashing Indian textile exports' hopes of a revival in 2008-09.
