Polyester cotton blended saree of Shigli (Karnataka) - A success story

In Norther part of Karnataka, weaving is part and parcel of life, as it has given employment opportunity in the rural areas. Central Silk Board, DCTSC dept., has conducted survey of weaving clusters in Gadag district. The paper reports one such area of Shigli as potential for weaving poly cotton saree which has developed good market in southern states.
