摘要

In this paper 2/60~s spun yarn has been successfully spun on worsted system of spinning from Eri and wool fibre. From these yarns plain fabric was woven on power loom using same count in both warp and weft. These fabrics have been tested for mechanical properties, according to international standard testing methods. The results have been compared and analyzed as per the requirement of the industry. The results of the investigation is thoroughly discussed. From the study it is revealed that Eri yarn fabric shows higher fabric mass, thickness, breaking strength, elongation %, tearing strength, flexural rigidity, abrasion resistance, bursting strength, water permeability, air resistance than wool spun yarn fabric and Thermal insulation value is close to wool.
