摘要

There are number of solvents and cleansing agents available in the market for removal of stains. A housewife faces lot of problems for purchasing chemical stain remover solvent for removing of single stain from the cotton and cotton blended cloth materials. Hence a study was carried out to find out common solvents and bleaching agents easily available at home for removal of majority of stains found on cotton fabric. Results revealed that selected stains were removed in the fresh and old (after two to three days) condition by the use of selected solvents and natural bleaching materials. It was clear from the study that selected solvents and natural bleaching agents were found to be excellent and effective for the majority of stains removed at house hold level and save money, time, energy and increases the life of garments and furnishing articles. Further it was also clear from the study that there is no relation between fabric count of low, medium and high of mulmul, grey and poplin respectively for the removal of stains.
