Comfort properties of denim fabric woven with natural yarns

Comfort is one of the important criteria while selecting fabric for garment construction. Consumers are ready to pay any amount for comfortable garments. In the present study ten denim samples were woven on shuttleless loom using natural yarns such as single cotton as warp yarn and two ply yarns of cotton, silk, worsted and bamboo as weft using 2/1 and 3/1 twill weave. The woven denim samples were assessed for comfort properties such as thermal resistance and air permeability. Clo value and air permeability rate of cotton x 2 ply cotton denim fabric was highest compared to rest of samples.
