摘要

There's a tsunami forming across the Pacific Ocean - a tidal wave of international trade rising with Indigenous business leaders in Canada, as they forge a unique blend of business and cultural relations in Asian countries. "Things are changing quite dramatically in this country" said Stewart Beck, President and CEO of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada headquartered in Vancouver. "Of our immigration source countries, the top three have been China, India and the Philippines for the past five to seven years." This past February APF Canada held its first roundtable for First Nations economic development organizations interested in expanding into Asian markets. The event attracted Indigenous business leaders from all parts of Canada, as far away as Newfoundland and Labrador.
